Corrections log
Every factual change we make to a published page lands here, dated and signed. The presence of this log is part of the site's editorial standing: a site that publishes its corrections is reading itself with the same care it asks its readers to bring.
Corrections policy
We correct factual errors. Prices that have moved get a refreshed figure; villa counts that have changed get an updated number; attribution that pointed to the wrong source gets retitled. We keep the original wording in this log where the change matters to the reader, so the record of what we said can be checked against what we now say.
We do not silently overwrite. A page that has been corrected carries the change here, and the page's last-verified date is updated to the day the correction landed.
If you have spotted an error on the site, write to editorial@ at this domain (compose the full address by appending @maldivesidylls.com; we list the local part only to keep harvesters off the page) with the page URL and what you noticed. We respond within a few business days.
The log
What changed: Re-attributed the sourcing on this page. The resort name and the 2026 opening projection are now credited to Coco Collection's January 2026 leadership announcement as carried by Hotelier Maldives and Visit Maldives Corporation on 18 January 2026, and the page now states that the group has published no standalone announcement of its own. The identification of the island as Biyadhoo is now presented as our reading of the redevelopment's project record rather than as an operator statement.
Why: Coco Collection's communications office wrote to us on 22 July 2026 to say no official announcement had been made. Re-checking showed the name and the year did come from the group's own announcement through two publications, but that our page had presented the island identification as established fact when no published source joins the brand and the island by name. The claim was ours to attribute, so we attributed it.
Original: “It is a ground-up redevelopment of Biyadhoo island in central South Male Atoll.”
Corrected: “The island is Biyadhoo in central South Male Atoll. That identification rests on the project record rather than on an operator statement, and no source we have found names the island and the brand in the same sentence.”
What changed: Corrected the villa inventory, the transfer time and the dining list against the operator's published factsheet. The page now records 98 villas across six categories, every one with a private pool, a 35-minute speedboat transfer, and six venues including the Japanese restaurant Tsuki and the Latitude pool bar.
Why: Our page carried 100 villas, a 40-minute transfer, pool-free Island and Water Villa categories, an Escape Water Residence category the operator no longer lists, and a beach bar named Breeze that does not exist at this resort. The factsheet the operator publishes on its own site says otherwise on every point.
Original: “100 villas; 40-minute speedboat; four restaurants including the Breeze beach bar.”
Corrected: “98 villas, all with private pools; 35-minute speedboat; four restaurants and two bars: Air, Aqua, Tsuki, Stars, Latitude and the Wine Loft.”
What changed: Corrected the dining list and the villa categories against the operator's published factsheet. The page now records five venues led by the Cowrie main restaurant, and six villa categories including the Deluxe Pool and Sunset Lagoon Villas.
Why: Our page named Air as the principal restaurant here. Air is a venue at Coco Bodu Hithi, the sister resort in North Male; it does not exist at Dhuni Kolhu. The page also carried a Beach Suite category the operator does not list and missed two categories it does. Attributing one resort's restaurant to another is exactly the kind of error this log exists to record.
Original: “The dining cluster runs across the principal Air all-day pavilion plus the Conch over-water speciality venue.”
Corrected: “Five venues: the Cowrie main restaurant with live cooking stations, the Thai speciality Cornus, the Breeze beachfront seafood barbecue, the Conch main bar and the Beach Bar.”
