Privacy and cookies
Short version: we run Google Analytics for traffic insight, but only after you accept the cookie banner. Decline and no analytics script loads at all. We do not run advertising remarketing, we do not sell data, and we do not build a cross-site identity graph.
Cookies and analytics
On first visit you see a small banner asking whether to load Google Analytics 4 (property G-E9CHMQCZR6). Accept and the script loads with IP anonymisation on. Decline and the script never loads.
Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key mi-consent-v1. To be asked again, clear that key in your browser settings or use a private window. There are no third-party advertising cookies, no remarketing pixels, and no cross-site identifiers.
What we collect, and don't
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics receives:
- Page paths you read on this site
- Approximate geography (country level), language, device class
- Referrer URL when you arrive from a link
- An anonymised, truncated IP address
We do not receive or store:
- Your name, email, or any account data (we have no accounts)
- Form submissions (we have no forms)
- Payment information (we do not process payments)
Affiliate links
Where outbound links to booking partners (Booking.com, Agoda) carry a partner ID, clicking those links sets a cookie on the partner's domain, not on this one. If you book through one of those links we earn a commission at no cost to you. Until each partnership goes live, these links function as regular outbound links with no commission flag. Editorial decisions are not influenced by which partner pays more; see the affiliate disclosure on the how-we-choose page.
Image ownership and takedown
Photographs on this site come from each resort's own communications and operator-supplied media kits. Operators retain ownership. If you would like an image removed, email editorial@ at this domain (compose the full address by appending @maldivesidylls.com; we list the local part only to keep harvesters off the page) with the URL of the page and the image; we honour the request without contest.
Automated training opt-out
Nothing on this site is licensed for use in automated training datasets, model-pretraining corpora, or generative model fine-tuning. Presence of a page or image here is not consent for ingestion by any third-party model.
